Sara Nix, Event Manager, High 5 Events:

Great event space in Göteborg (Gothenburg)

“Last week I was in Göteborg, running an event at the Gothia Towers Hotel with my High 5 colleague Michelle Mantle.

GothiaTower-2014-Day-4

As an Event Manager, I think it’s so important to highlight fantastic service and I can’t praise the staff at the Gothia Towers Hotel highly enough.

Before I had even left the luggage hall at the airport, I received a phone call from Louise Antonsson (Reservations Agent Groups & Events), to introduce herself and ask what time I would like to meet her to run through our event, we agreed we would meet at 14:00 in the hotel lobby. In 16 years of event management, I can honestly say I haven’t received such slick service. When we arrived at the hotel, we saw three people sat in an open seating area in the lobby, by the numerous lifts that take you to the three different towers.  Before we could even think to look around to find someone to ask which lift goes to ‘Imagine’ our venue for the evening, Sam Sultanovic the hotels Director of Corporate Sales, immediately jumped up from his meeting to offer us assistance. He had no idea that we were Event Managers, which just goes to show the level of service the hotel offers to each and every guest.  We ended up having a lovely chat and then Louise arrived to take us up to our meeting space at 14:00 on the dot!

From the moment we arrived, every member of staff we came across from the AV crew, to the Piano Player, to Yeliz and her wonderful F&B team, took care of our every wish, of which there were quite a few and always with great speed and a genuine smile.

The event ran very smoothly and our client was extremely happy, as were all the guests.  So if you are looking for a great venue in Göteborg, this hotel is a must.

Venue Details:

On the 29th floor of the third tower, one hundred meters above the ground, in Gothenburg’s tallest building is a new function room called “Imagine”.   This fantastic venue has views that stretch for miles in every direction. With its restaurant and sky bar, the function room is ideal for all manner of events from product launches to exclusive dinners and parties, the possibilities are endless!

The menus are created by Executive Chef Krister Dahl.  Krister was captain of the Swedish Culinary Team between 2005 and 2012, and is the only chef in the world to have won four gold medals at the Culinary Olympics. So you can be sure of a world-class dining experience! The venue offers a wide range of entertainment, including shows, cover bands, MCs and DJs to suit every budget.  Whatever your taste, they’ll put together a great package for you.

It’s also worth noting that if you require any other meeting space, the hotel has numerous conference venues accommodating a total of 8,800 people in 50 rooms. Half of these can accommodate 120 seated guests or more. All their rooms have stages and can be adapted to suit most requirements.  Their conference technicians are always on hand to help.

There is also a Congress Hall that normally seats in excess of 1,500 guests, but can also be transformed into a banqueting hall for 1,100, they simply raise the seating up into the ceiling! For very big of groups, the world-class Hall C has space for 2,800 people.

In total the Gothia Towers Hotel can accommodate up to 8800 guests and if that’s not enough, their partner venue Scandinavium is right next door.”
