New head chef: Upper House Dining

Upper House Dining seeks a new head chef!

My name is Krister Dahl. As Executive Chef at Gothia Towers, I’m responsible for our restaurants. 

We opened Upper House in September 2013, and in a short space of time Upper House Dining has gone from strength to strength. For example, we have been ranked 7th in the White Guide’s Master Class list and were named Dagens Industri’s Business Restaurant of the Year 2014. Now I’m looking for someone to take us even further.

As Head Chef at Upper House Dining you will play a key role in our kitchen, where our guests’ overall experience is of the utmost importance. You will develop and take responsibility for the menu and the guest experience, together with our Hotel Manager and Restaurang Manager. You will work to lead and develop your employees to achieve the highest possible levels of quality and guest satisfaction. The emphasis of the role will be on working on the floor and within operations.

You will be responsible for budgets and results, but the focus is on creativity in the kitchen, supporting our Controller Göran.

You will work together with other head chefs and restaurant managers as part of an operational team, offering both support and the opportunity to share your experiences.

Qualifications and personal qualities

Applicants should have a least five years of experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants, and have worked in a management position within restaurant operations. You should be a professional who can combine administrative tasks with working in the kitchen. You should be highly creative, bringing together tradition and innovation. Our guests’ overall experience should be your main focus, with consideration for guests and staff as your key tasks. Expert knowledge of food and drink will be an underlying theme in this context, together with staff management and costing. Sustainability will be important to you.

You should speak English fluently. Additional languages, such as Swedish, would be an advantage.

You should be passionate about providing first-class service and exceeding guests’ expectations. You will also be quality conscious, with a keen eye for detail. With a love for the service industry, you should enjoy working in a team and have a desire to be part of – and run – world-class hosting.
