Gothia Towers – a part of Gothenburg
Welcome to Hotel Gothia Towers in Gothenburg. Here you can stay in one of our three iconic towers, high above the city, and choose from 1,200 rooms that offer fantastic views over Gothenburg. We also have several restaurants and bars that offers a variety of cousines for all tastes.
Our unique location, with the amusement park Liseberg across the street and the travel node of Korsvägen right next to the hotel, puts you within walking distance to all of Gothenburg’s sights, sports- and music arenas such as Ullevi and Scandinavium, as well as shopping and restaurants. If you travel by car there is a parking garage conveniently located right next to the hotel, and if you arrive in Gothenburg by other transportation, both Airport buses and public transport buses and trams stop very close to the hotel entrance.

There are so many things to see and do here, so we’ve put together a list of 10 city attractions that you shouldn’t miss:
Our good neighbour Liseberg
Just across the road is our nearest neighbour, Liseberg Amusement Park, with something for everyone. In the summer there are 40-plus attractions offering thrills and spills for young and old, as well as international artists performing on the park’s main stage. During the autumn there are hair-raising Halloween-themed events, with a spooky house of horrors and all manner of mischief and sweets. The winter season brings Christmas at Liseberg, when the park is transformed into a glistening winter wonderland. Hunt for gifts among the Christmas market stalls in the glow of millions of Christmas lights.
The Gothenburg Museum of Art
The museum is only a short walk from Gothia Towers on Götaplatsen and has three stars in Michelin’s Green Guide. Here you will find impressive Nordic collections dating from the 15th century onward, as well as popular major exhibitions running throughout the year.
The Gothenburg Archipelago
The Gothenburg archipelago stretches along the coast like a string of pearls. Just a short journey from central Gothenburg, you can stroll down picturesque alleys and along stunning beaches and coastal paths, as well as explore various nature reserves. It is easy to get to the southern archipelago by boat, while the northern archipelago is accessible by car.
Sightseeing with Paddan
Experience Gothenburg from the water on this classic sightseeing tour. The Paddan sightseeing boats take you back through history as you cruise along Gothenburg’s canals. During the summer season there are frequent tours of Gothenburg’s canals and harbours. Gothia Towers sells tour tickets, which you can purchase when booking a room or from reception.
Feskekôrka
Visit Gothenburg’s wonderful covered market and a mecca for seafood lovers everywhere. Feskekôrka was built in 1874 based on drawings by city architect Victor von Gegerfelt. And yes, it really does look like a church. Feskekôrka, as it rapidly become known locally, is one of Gothenburg’s best-known attractions. This distinctive building houses an indoor market where you can buy all manner of seafood delicacies caught fresh that day.
Haga old town
Haga is one of Gothenburg’s oldest neighbourhoods and a great little area for cafés and shopping. Its name comes from the hagar or paddocks that used to be here in the 17th century. Haga is within easy walking distance of the city centre and has pedestrian streets lined with small cosy cafés and shops interspersed with the county governor-style houses that are typical of Gothenburg.
Experience Universeum
Universeum is just across the road from Gothia Towers. Here you can find a complete rainforest, aquariums housing exotic fish and sharks, and exotic plants and animals, all under one roof. Universeum is Scandinavia’s largest science centre and offers plenty of adventure for the whole family, whatever the weather outside.
Shopping in Gothenburg
Local fashion labels, second-hand items and homewares are just some of the things you can find on a shopping trip in and around Gothenburg. Stroll between boutiques, international chains and large department stores. The city has a thriving fashion scene and there are plenty of local designers to discover. Start on Avenyn, just a few minutes’ walk from Gothia Towers.
Eat and drink well in Gothenburg
Visit some of Gothenburg’s restaurants. Delights fresh from the sea taste particularly good when enjoyed right here on the coast. World-class fish and shellfish, innovative cuisine, Michelin stars and fantastic ingredients from a vibrant agricultural landscape. Gothia Towers has four public restaurants based around a variety of concepts.
Gothenburg’s parks and gardens
Just a 20-minute walk from the hotel is Trädgårdsföreningen (the Garden Society of Gothenburg) – one of Europe’s best-preserved parks dating from the 19th century. On the other side of the city is Gothenburg’s Botanical Garden, which is home to more than 16,000 species of plants.
